TransWorks, a highly advanced provider of software solutions for the transportation industry, is interested in candidates for programming positions in our corporate systems department. Our employees are responsible for assisting customers in defining their systems requirements, analyzing those requirements, and designing, implementing, documenting, and testing the resulting automated applications. TransWorks looks for candidates with experience in Informix, SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, C++, Visual Basic.NET, C#, AIX/Linux and Java. Knowledge of Transportation and Logistics is a plus.

Current Positions

TransWorks is currently seeking developers to support in-house Microsoft .NET & C++; Unix-based C/C++; and Java applications. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Designing, building, and supporting transportation applications.
  • Problem determination and trouble-shooting.
  • Responsible for tasks, deliverables, and meeting deadlines on development projects.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to function both independently and in a team environment.
  • Off-hours support.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Team player.

To qualify, you must have solid skills in at least one of the following disciplines:

  • C++ and VB.NET development. Experience developing applications in VisualStudio for deployment on MS Windows platforms
  • Java and C/C++ development. Experience developing web applications deployed on Tomcat or JBOSS application servers. Also experience in developing Java & C/C++ applications deployed on Linux or Unix servers.
  • C/C++ development. Experience in developing or supporting highly automated solutions on Linux or Unix servers. Excellent understanding of the Linux operating system and scripting.

All candidates must have:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Informatics (or equivalent experience.)
  • Strong SQL Skills

Preferred candidates:

  • Transportation experience.
  • C#.NET, VB.NET, C, C++, esql/C or Java experience.
  • Korn (or other Unix shell) scripting experience
  • Perl scripting experience VisualStudio or Eclipse experience
  • Informix or SQL Server 2005 experience
  • MS Team Foundation Server or CVS experience.
  • Business Intelligence knowledge & experience.
  • Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS, Hibernate, Seam or Struts experience.
  • Java Servlet, Applet or HTML experience.
  • Will reside in the NE Indiana region, but we are willing to go outside the area for the right person.
